It's not funny

Advertising Slogans

Apparently the worldwide spread of Coca-Cola & Pepsi-Cola has sometimes caused difficulties in translating their slogans.
Pepsi:
"Come alive with Pepsi", when put into German, became: "Come alive out of the grave"
and in Chinese it became: "Pepsi brings your ancestors back from the dead".

Coca-Cola:
In Peking, "Put a smile on your face" was translated as "Let your teeth rejoice" but even better, the mega famous phrase "It's the real thing" became: "The Elephant bites the Wax Duck".
