In the kitchen
In a French seafood restaurant there is only one small mouldy squid left in the tank.
The last diner of the evening orders it, so Gervase the cook picks out the squid and puts it on his slab to chop it up. But the tiny green thing looks so ugly and sad with its little moustache quivering in fear, that Gervase can't do the deed.
Big Hans the German washer-up decides that he will do it and takes the cleaver, but the squid looks up at him with his ugly, little, hairy face and Hans crumbles.
Which just goes to prove that Hans that does dishes can be soft as Gervase, with vile, green, hairy-lipped squid.
